Sunday Organizing: Quilt Storage

If you are like me, you've given most your quilts away to loved ones. Luckily, I have a few favorites still "hanging" around. We live in a 1950's Colonial Home...so it's a cold house during the winter. My kids actually had the idea that I needed to make quilts for the living room as the fireplace is our cozy family gathering spot when anyone comes home for a visit...especially on snowy days!
So my husband made me a quilt ladder:
How do you store your quilts? Feel welcome to comment to share.
With smiles,
Val:)

  1. I actually only own one quilt, so far, so I don't need to think too much about storage at this stage, but I'm sure many people would appreciate a Quilt Ladder tutorial. I may just need to know how to make one in a few years :)

  3. I love the quilt ladder! I only have 2 quilts that I've kept and one lays over the chair in our sitting room to cover the fact it needs reupholstering! and the other is a quillow that lives on our sofa ready and waiting for a snuggle :o)

  4. I am going to talk to my handyman friend about a quilt ladder like yours... would love one or maybe more! Right now I have 3 lap quilts folded over one corner of our sectional sofa for a ladder of sorts.

  5. I would love to have a quilt rack. I Keep my eye out in antique shops. Plus, I mostly give my quilts away...so wouldn't have many to display besides the antique ones Ive inherited. A display rack would be incentive to keep one or two, eh?

  6. I have UFOs in a box... ready to move to my new house, still unknown. The one quilt made for my Hubby's 70th birthday, is draped over the couch. My quilt, made by ladies we both know and love, is used very often and so could be anywhere I am. All other quilts made over the years have been given, and live here no more. That's one way not to have storage problems.
Love your ladder. Bet your Hubby could go into the business - maybe sell them through the LQS.
    Hugs

  7. I like your ladder. Might need hubby to make something similar when I have a booth at a craft show. As for the quilts we use, they're directly on the couch.... usually being smooshed by a kitty. :) www.quiltartbymegan.com
